Mangistau residents were urged not to panic about the rise in food prices
Monitoring groups together with journalists conducted a press tour of the warehouses of the city, during which they got acquainted with the prices of food and, first of all, sugar and flour, the Center for Public Communications of the Mangystau region reports.
According to the Department of trade and price monitoring of the entrepreneurship department of the region, the increase in prices for socially significant food products since the beginning of the year amounted to 3 %
According to Ali Sarsenov, head of the Trade Department of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Trade of the Mangystau region, 85% of food products are imported to the region from other regions and foreign countries. He spoke about the current situation on the sugar market.
- In recent days, information about the shortage and rise in price of sugar has been spreading on social networks. For this reason, on March 14 this year, with the involvement of the media, we organized a press tour to inspect the warehouses of the regional stabilization fund, Anvar and Dina LLP, as well as large retail chains in Aktau for the presence of sugar. Currently, 421 tons of sugar are stored in the stable fund, 340 tons are on the way (arrival is expected within 10 days).
The average price in the region for 1 kg of sugar is 295 tenge. Explanatory work is being carried out with all entrepreneurs engaged in the implementation of the NWPT to prevent speculative actions in the food market. At the same time, on March 11 this year, the commission for the implementation of price stabilization mechanisms for NWT decided to implement sugar intervention in the amount of 136 tons to retail chains (265 tenge per 1 kg.), - the specialist explained.
In addition, currently Saukymbek LLP has signed an agreement with Food Corporation JSC for the supply of about 24,000 tons of grain for the production of flour and bran.
According to statistics, the average price of grade 1 flour in the region is 257 tenge per 1 kg.
A memorandum was signed between the akimat of the region and Saukymbek LLP on restraining prices for grade 1 flour in the amount of 135 tenge of the Munaily brand and 150 tenge of the Caspian brand.
- Fairs of agricultural producers and wholesale suppliers are organized weekly for residents of the region. Since the beginning of the year, 70 such fairs have been held. 436 memoranda have been signed with large and small trade organizations to prevent unjustified price increases for socially important food products.
The owners of 1589 grocery stores "at home" were handed notification letters on the prevention of more than 15% of the premium on NWPT in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Regulation of trade activities".
In order to increase affordability, the project "People's Control" is being implemented. 53 monitoring groups have been created in the region, involving more than 400 active members of the group. Monitoring groups conduct monitoring twice a week. 60% of the groups consist of deputies and public activists of various levels, as well as rural akims and other civil servants," Ali Sarsenov said.
He added that there is no shortage of sugar. Sugar is sold in all retail outlets of the city.
