Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan will be trained in e-commerce skills for free

BTS Education, with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the  payment system Mastercard, is launching an e-commerce school for small and medium-sized businesses.

Today, the business of every entrepreneur depends on how effectively and competently he applies and uses digital technologies. Entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan are welcomed to receive training to expand their business online through e-commerce skills. Participants will learn how to increase revenue on their business in e-commerce and learn about current digital trends.

According to Asel Zhanasova, Vice Minister of the MIT RK: “In order to create a modern entrepreneurial ecosystem, measures are needed to support and stimulate representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. Given that this category of entrepreneurs took the brunt of the economic impact of the pandemic, it is important to take measures for their development, qualitative improvement of knowledge, skills and qualifications. Undoubtedly, all this will help increase their competitiveness, and in turn have a positive impact on the socio-economic level of our country.

Rafal Trepka, CEO of Mastercard in Central Asia, said: “Today, the digital economy is the reality in which we live: payments by cards and smartphones, online shopping and home delivery have recently become an integral part of our lives. Although there has been an unprecedented growth in cashless payments and e-commerce over the past year in Kazakhstan, there are still many economic niches where entrepreneurs can use all the opportunities and advantages provided by e-commerce. We hope that this project will help companies apply the acquired knowledge and skills and successfully develop their business.”

To accomplish this task, BTS Education created an online e-commerce school, which is located on the LMS platform ecommerce.jumysbar.kz with open access.

Entrepreneurs and representatives of SMEs will be able to study at a convenient time for them in an online format with the possibility of repetition.

The e-commerce school will provide an opportunity to learn new skills, such as developing targeted advertising, maintaining pages on social networks, opening an online store, selling goods on international online platforms, connecting online payments and cybersecurity.

Also, interviews with various successful online business entrepreneurs and success stories of domestic businessmen will be published monthly on the platform.

At the end of the training, the best SMEs are provided with an acceleration program. Mentors and business trackers from the e-commerce industry will work directly with selected teams on a strategic plan in moving to an online business.

The e-commerce school also provides a motivational prize fund. All SMEs participating in the course will participate in an internal competition for a grant of 1,000,000 tenge to expand their business online.
