Bakhyt Sultanov: About export

I am in Moscow as part of the delegation of the Head of State. Important political meetings and consultations are taking place.

At the same time, together with colleagues from the Ministry of Agriculture and Russian partners, we tried to fill the economic agenda of mutually beneficial cooperation with our northern neighbor in parallel with the working visit of our President.

Now one of the world's largest "reviews" of foodstuffs is taking place here in Moscow – the 29th International Exhibition of Food, Beverages and Raw Materials for their Production "PRODEXPO-2022".

Of course, Kazakhstan, where the agro-industry is one of the promising sectors of the economy, could not stay away.

The products of 20 Kazakhstani manufacturing companies are presented at our National Stand. Confectionery, pasta, flour milling, confectionery, honey products, various kinds of drinks, juices and beer, ice cream…

There are companies processing vegetable and fruit products (cucumbers, tomatoes, an extensive line of salad products, fruit puree, apple cider vinegar, etc.). The enterprises represent half of the regions of Kazakhstan: Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Kostanay, Turkestan and Pavlodar regions, the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent.

During a couple of days of the exhibition, all Kazakhstani companies participating in the National Stand signed export contracts. The total amount of contracts has already exceeded $ 82 million, and this is not the limit – the exhibition continues.

As for the products themselves, the greatest interest is in our fat-and-oil products (butter, margarine) and ice cream. Suppliers and processors of fruit and vegetable products, fruit purees and natural juices, beverages and beer have good contracts. Medoviki have good contracts. And, of course, our traditional goods: confectionery, flour, pasta.

I want to clarify right away: now I am talking only about companies represented on the National Stand. As our Trade representative office in Moscow informed me, there are several dozen more manufacturers who participate in the exhibition independently, without state support. These are companies engaged in the production of eggs, meat, sausage and dairy products, pasta, seasonings and spices, strong alcohol, packaging products for the food industry, for example, glass containers.

The exhibition continues, the business conducts presentations / negotiations / exchange of contacts.

I wish good luck to our manufacturers and more long-term export contracts!

P.S. And more. There is an expression: advertising is the engine of trade. The more the product is shown from all sides and told about its advantages, the more buyers there are for it. Therefore, one of the important directions of the state support of Kazakhstani exporters is the organization of their participation in various international thematic exhibitions.

At the same time, with state support in Kazakhstan, we focus exclusively on the segment of small and medium-sized businesses. Large companies have their own resources to break into international markets, so it is necessary to help stable and novice middle-class people. We hope that our support will help our manufacturers to occupy a stable niche in neighboring markets.
