The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Bashkortostan amounted to $336.7 million

Nur-Sultan - January 19, 2022. Today, the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the first meeting of the Working Groups
on the Development of Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation.
Kairat Torebayev noted that the Republic of Kazakhstan is the main trade and economic partner of Bashkortostan among the neighboring countries.
According to him, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Bashkortostan in January-November 2021 amounted to $336.7 million (an increase of 30.3%). At the same time, exports from Kazakhstan to Bashkortostan increased by 47.6%. The growth of supplies from Bashkortostan amounted to 27.2%.
The growth of exports to Bashkortostan was ensured due to an increase in oil supplies - by 58.7%, petroleum products - by 2.7 p. and food products (bread and flour confectionery - an increase of 2.2 p., rice - by 2.4 p.) and so on.
It is also reported that in the current period Kazakhstan began to supply propylene polymers, parts of rolling stock. At the same time, the indicators indicate that the existing huge potential for increasing the volume of mutual trade has not yet been fully realized.
In order to level the situation, Kazakhstan is ready to increase supplies to Bashkortostan in the amount of $27.2 million. Kairat Torebvaev noted that Kazakhstani companies are ready to offer consumers of Bashkortostan a wide range of high-quality processed goods (80 items of goods).
For our part, we are also ready to review the project once again in order to activate the unrealized potential of trade relations in agriculture, the food industry, the Halal industry, and industrial cooperation.
Moreover, the Kazakh side noted the need to continue work on holding business forums and trade and economic missions, as well as on the use of insurance financial measures to support exports.
"In 2021, we launched the second phase of the Acceleration Program with a focus on the markets of the Russian Federation, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, the UAE and China. We will consider options for inclusion in the Roadmap of Kazakhstani companies that have undergone export acceleration to enter the Russian market. I would like to note that our institutions: the Trade Representation of Kazakhstan in Russia, Kazakhexport JSC, Qaztrade CRTP JSC are ready for close cooperation and active work," Kairat Torebayev said.
The Kazakh side expressed hope that joint efforts will actively continue work on trade diversification and trade balance equalization. There is a significant potential of Kazakhstani and Bashkortostan companies for this.
