Nur-Sultan - January 19, 2022. Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov took part in the first meeting of the Working Group on the Development of Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation.
"Cooperation with the Republic of Bashkortostan occupies a special place in the strategic partnership of Kazakhstan and Russia. The strong Turkic roots with which we are connected provide a reliable basis for further building up our mutually beneficial long-term trade and economic partnership. To restore pre–crisis trade volumes and expand cooperation on access to the markets of our countries, a Roadmap for the development of bilateral cooperation for 2022-2024 is currently being implemented," Bakhyt Sultanov said.
The results for 11 months of 2021 indicate a progressive recovery in trade volumes. Thus, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Bashkortostan increased by 30.3% (amounted to $336.7 million).
"One of the promising areas being worked out following the results of our mutual visits is a cross-border cooperation project that will be formed on the territory of the West Kazakhstan region, in close proximity to Bashkortostan. I consider it necessary to submit a specific action plan for this project to the experts by the next meeting of the Working Group," Sultanov Bakhyt said.
Our main task is to fully implement all the tasks set and bring cooperation between Kazakhstan and Bashkortostan to a higher level, the minister concluded.
In addition, the parties discussed the progress of the project with the participation of JSC "Caustic" in the territory of the special economic zone "Pavlodar" for the production of high-tech organochlorine and inorganic products in demand on the market, as well as the possibility of creating a joint production for the production of OSB plates with the Republic of Bashkortostan in Sebai.
