Statement of the Union of Retail Chains of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The activities of food retail chains in all cities of Kazakhstan, except Almaty, are carried out in a normal mode (taking into account the time restrictions due to curfew). We hope for the resumption of their activities in Almaty soon.

At the moment, Magnum retail chain is considering the possibility of opening two supermarkets in Almaty. The timing of the opening will depend on the guarantees that the security forces and their own paramilitary security forces ensure the complete safety of employees and visitors to supermarkets.

There are currently no supply disruptions in all regions except Almaty due to active counter-terrorism actions. According to information received from retail chains, food suppliers did not report price changes.

Retail chains hope for the state's help in compensating for the significant damage caused by the actions of looters in the cities of Almaty, Taldykorgan, Taraz.
