A plan of joint activities has been approved to expand mutual trade between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan

As part of the negotiations between the heads of state of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, bilateral negotiations were held with the participation of members of the official delegations of the two countries.

The parties aim to intensify work on further improving the conditions of access to the markets of the countries for participants in foreign trade activities. Work in this direction should be promoted both through trade in goods and through the promotion of trade in services.

Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan B.T. Sultanov and Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan S.U. Umurazakov signed a plan of joint measures to expand mutual trade and increase the provision of food products.

The parties outlined specific measures aimed at the joint construction of wholesale distribution centers on the territories of the countries, with their further integration with border hubs, to form a single commodity distribution system. The first steps in this direction have already been taken by agreeing and signing the Concept of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation and the corresponding Action Plan for the implementation of this project.

Thus, in 2023-2024, it is planned to launch the activities of agrologistic centers (ALC), jointly promote the services of agrologistic centers, develop partnerships with export support, with the involvement of cooperation participants, dehkan and farms, agro-clusters and agricultural associations in the activities of agrologistic centers.

In addition, the parties plan to organize the work of laboratories that allow for full-fledged testing of quality and safety indicators of food and food products in the ALC based on international requirements, the organization of "green corridors" for mutual export and import and transit of agricultural products.

It is also planned to launch accelerated railway container trains as part of the Plan. And in this context, the parties are considering the possibility of Kazakhstan's participation in the Russian-Uzbek Agroexpress project for the supply of agricultural products.

In addition, to provide their own markets with early and late harvests during the off-season, especially socially significant goods, the parties plan to switch to the practice of concluding forward contracts for the supply of agricultural products.

In general, the Plan provides for work in 5 directions: the launch of accelerated railway container trains, the organization of wholesale distribution centers (ORCS) with the involvement of Kazakh investments; the conclusion of forward contracts for the supply of agricultural products; the implementation of projects in the field of agriculture with the involvement of Uzbek investments in Kazakhstan; mutual supplies of agricultural products.
