The main day of the III Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan has started

The III Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan continues to work in Turkestan.

Two panel sessions were held on the first day of the Forum: "Creation of a joint commodity distribution system of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan" and "Cross-border risk management. Conservation/environmental protection and development of renewable energy sources".

In addition, numerous meetings of the business circles of the two countries were held at the Forum site. As a result of the B2B negotiations, 54 documents were signed for a total of $611.3 million. Of these, investment - $372.7 million, trade - $238.6 million (exports - 123.7, imports - 114.9 (2021-2022).

Among the investment agreements is an agreement on the implementation of projects for the production of cardboard and paper and on the organization of the production of electrical products in the territory of the special economic zone of Turkestan. In addition, the Akimat of Turkestan region signed a Memorandum with OOO "Discovery Invest" on the implementation of an investment project for the construction of industrial facilities, civilian residential complexes, educational institutions, and the Akimat of Shymkent - with Asia Metal Prof LLC - a memorandum on an investment project for the construction of a metal processing plant.

The list of export contracts includes deliveries to Uzbekistan of Kazakhstani transformers, CCTV cameras, locomotives and rail products, smart door locks, phosphorous raw materials, furniture and agricultural products.

Among the import contracts are agreements for the supply of light industry goods, construction materials, fruit and vegetable products to Kazakhstan.

Today, on the 2nd day of the III Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin and Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov will take part in the Plenary session of the Forum.

Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov, Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Badriddin Abidov, Akim of Turkestan region Umirzak Shukeyev, Khokim of Jizzakh region RU Ergash Saliev, Akim of Mangistau region Nurlan Nogayev and Khokim of Navoi region Normat Tursunov will also speak at the meeting.

Following the results of the Plenary session, the Protocol of the 19th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan is expected to be signed.
