At the meeting of the Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the implementation of digitalization, Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov spoke about the work carried out on the introduction of the "social wallet".
According to Bakhyt Sultanov, it is planned to conduct 2 pilots by the end of 2021.
The first is the organizational pilot of the centralized payment of targeted social assistance (TSA).
As part of the pilot project, the local executive body will consider citizens' applications and appoint TSA, after which the lists of TSA recipients will be transferred to the NAO "State Corporation "Government for Citizens" for centralized payment.
The second is a technical pilot, i.e. testing the functionality of the "social wallet", where, depending on the choice of a citizen, social assistance funds are credited either to his bank account or to a social wallet in the form of electronic money issued by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The cities of Nur-Sultan, Pavlodar, and Akkol were identified as pilot regions.
The pilot projects being prepared for launch are aimed at achieving the following results:
- testing of social wallet and business wallet services among the population and businesses;
- collection of suggestions/comments from the public and business for further improvement of the quality of service;
- identification of shortcomings and their elimination before scaling the "social wallet" in all regions.
