"Social Wallet": the National QR Code Standard for payment market participants has been approved

At the meeting of the Commission under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the implementation of digitalization, Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov spoke about the work carried out on the implementation of the "social purse".

To date, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Ministries of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Labor and Social Protection of the Population and the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has carried out all the necessary organizational work.

First of all, relevant legislative amendments have been introduced, providing for the possibility of creating a digital "social wallet", as well as the creation and functioning of a commodity distribution system.

The Rules of crediting, Accounting and Use of benefits and Social payments with electronic money have been approved.

As it was noted, the mechanism and approaches of the pilot project have been coordinated with the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan, financial market participants and trade organizations.

Currently, work is underway on the technical implementation of the "social wallet" pilot with second-tier banks (JSC "Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan", JSC "Eurasian Bank", JSC "Kazpost").
