The EAEU has identified priority areas of international activity

In 2022, the international agenda of the EAEU will focus on key foreign partners and international organizations that are of the greatest economic interest for the Eurasian integration, based solely on trade and economic efficiency.

Thus, efforts will be made as a priority to deepen trade and economic ties with India, Iran, Turkey, Korea, Turkmenistan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the State of Qatar.

The EAEU intends to develop a dialogue in the EAEU-EU format and institutionalize cooperation with the European Commission. The European Union is the largest trade, investment and technological partner and the main buyer of goods exported by the EAEU countries, which accounted for 36.8% of the total volume of foreign trade of the EAEU in 2020.

Work will also continue on the formation of an institutional framework for the development of cooperation with the SCO, BRICS, the Group of Twenty (G-20) and other regional integration associations in order to establish cooperation and develop interaction in areas of mutual interest.

These approaches will be reflected in the Main Directions of the EAEU's international activities for the corresponding period, based on the goals of the Union and the relevance of the international agenda.

The document is planned to be approved by the Heads of the EAEU States within the framework of the upcoming meeting of the EEU, which is scheduled for October this year.
