The Ministry of Trade is developing proposals for coordinating the pricing of foodstuffs

Today, on September 2, 2021, Vice-Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kazanbayev spoke at a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the implementation of the address of the Head of State.As the representative of the Ministry of Trade noted, in the Message "The unity of the people and systemic reforms are a solid foundation for the prosperity of the country", two points are assigned to the Ministry of Trade.

The Head of State was instructed to ensure access of small agricultural producers, including private subsidiary farms, to the system of wholesale distribution centers.During his speech, Yerzhan Kazanbayev explained that in the ORC system, within the framework of the PPP agreement between the partners, appropriate provisions will be provided that will ensure free and competitive access for small commodity producers and personal subsidiary farms.

"This will expand the market for agricultural products and create a separate economic cluster that will bring the producer closer to the consumer," Yerzhan Kazanbayev said.

The Vice Minister also noted that free competition and the projected level of tariffs for the storage and distribution infrastructure of products will have a positive impact on the final price of food for our citizens.

On the implementation of the second paragraph of the Address on determining the responsible state body for unified control of food prices along the chain from producer to consumer, the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan said that the Ministry of Trade, together with the Ministry of National Economy and other interested bodies, will make proposals within a month to endow the MIT with the functions of an authorized body for coordinating pricing and distribution of food products along the chain from producer to consumer.Along with what, Yerzhan Kazanbayev explained, that the relevant regulations for interaction between sectoral state bodies and organizations will be developed within a month.
