The volume of exports of non-primary goods amounted to $ 7.2 billion

Nur-Sultan – August 12, 2021. The main results of the work on the promotion of non-primary goods and services were reported at the board of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan by Vice-Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev.

The year 2020 was not easy for the whole world. Many countries have faced a decline in demand on the world commodity markets, the complication of cargo transportation, and the severance of contacts with foreign business partners. As a result, the volume of international trade in goods decreased by 5%, trade in services-by 20%.

"At the same time, this year there is a gradual recovery. Thus, for 5 months, the external trade turnover of Kazakhstan amounted to 36.4 billion US dollars, an increase of 1% compared to the same period last year.At the same time, the volume of exports of non-primary goods increased by 23.4%, amounting to 7.2 billion US dollars. The drivers of growth were copper and copper cathodes, whose exports increased by 35.7%, the supply of flat rolled products also increased by 89.1%, silver-by 2.2 times, sunflower oil - by 49.5%, " Kairat Torebayev said.

As you know, the main consumers of Kazakh products are Russia, China, and Uzbekistan. Today, in the context of a reduction in oil production and a sharp collapse in oil prices, building the potential of the non-resource sector of the economy is a key task of MIT.

In order to prevent a further decline in the volume of non-resource exports, the Ministry systematically provides support to export-oriented enterprises. These are more than 20 instruments of financial and non-financial support.

During the first half of the year, almost 90 enterprises were given recommendations to improve their export activities and search for counterparties, 20 industry express digests were prepared, 97 express analyses with point recommendations for enterprises to bring their products to foreign markets.

The Ministry has significantly expanded the list of feedback channels with exporters, launched a telegram chat @exportgov, where all the requests of exporters are accumulated and operational support is provided to everyone who applies.
