In Kazan (Tatarstan, RF) the Kazakh-Russian business forum and B2B meetings of entrepreneurs of the two countries took place.
The result was the signing of bilateral agreements and contracts.
The business mission was organized with the assistance of the Trade Representative Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation.
The forum was held as part of the XII International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2021".
According to the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebaev, over the past five years, Kazakhstan has been among the top ten trade partners of the Republic of Tatarstan. However, there is a great potential for increasing trade turnover.
- Last year, the volume of trade between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan amounted to more than USD 500 million. At the same time, both republics are interested in bringing the volume of trade to $ 1 billion per year. We are confident that this year our countries will be able to build up and increase trade turnover, - said Torebaev.
At the same time, he suggested that the countries "not only export raw materials, but switch to deep processing and export finished products."
- The development of border trade is the main driver of increasing the turnover of countries. In the Eurasian Economic Union, we consider cross-border regional cooperation not only in terms of trade, but also as an opportunity to create joint production projects in various industries, - Kairat Torebayev commented on the sidelines of the Forum.
The Kazakhstani business delegation was represented by 20 companies operating in the following spheres: petrochemistry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, pipe production, food processing, etc.
All of them presented their products at the exhibition of the XII International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2021".
The Kazakhstani pavilion was examined by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The opportunities of Kazakhstani companies were presented to the President of the Republic by Vice-Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebaev and Deputy General Director of QazTrade Nurlan Kulbatyrov.
- The event was held at a high level. Such events help domestic producers to find new buyers and increase volumes with existing partners. At the same time, the company, together with the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, does not stop there. This year, we set ourselves more ambitious tasks aimed at ensuring uninterrupted supplies of domestic products to foreign markets and comprehensive support for exporters, - said Nurlan Kulbatyrov, Deputy General Director of QazTrade.
Within the framework of the exhibition and business forum, a representative of each Kazakh company held at least five meetings with potential business partners from the Russian Federation.
At the same time, within the framework of the event, field meetings were held in the Agro-Industrial Park "Kazan" (a complex that includes wholesale and retail trade, production and cross-docking) and in the Zelenodolsk region (large logistics hubs are concentrated in the region).
The result of the trade and economic mission was the signing of a number of contracts for the supply of electrical products, dairy products, pasta, salt and polypropylene products worth over 15 million US dollars. In addition, other Kazakhstani producers are discussing contracts for the supply of Kazakhstani products. By the end of this year, the planned amount of contracts will be about US $ 30 million.
“The trade and economic missions of Kazakhstan in other states are one of the most effective tools for establishing B2B cooperation and building up business interaction between countries,” - explained Azamat Askaruly, General Director of QazTrade, a single operator to support exports to Kazakhstan.
As Askaruli said, all trade and economic missions (TEM) are preceded by large-scale work to study the opportunities and needs of the markets. And also a list of potential ones for increasing the export of goods is being formed and "in close cooperation, local associations of entrepreneurs are selected and invited to meetings of companies that may be interested in cooperation and trade with Kazakhstani partners."
- Any departure of our exporters as part of trade missions is preceded by a lot of preparatory work. This is necessary so that the entrepreneurs of the two countries meet immediately to discuss the specifics of possible cooperation, and not just get to know each other, - the head of QazTrade noted.
TEM in Kazan has become the fourth trade and economic mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan since the beginning of the year.
As part of the service support for exporters to support and develop exports, QazTrade organized business forums and B2B meetings in Tajikistan (Dushanbe), RF (Yekaterinburg), Uzbekistan (Tashkent). Also, online business forums with Armenian and Tajik business communities were held.
More than 100 Kazakhstani exporting companies took part in these meetings.
The volume of contracts signed since the beginning of the year (excluding the results of the meeting in Kazan) amounted to more than $ 70 million. A number of contracts are also being prepared for signing by the end of the year.
