As promised, I am sharing my work on establishing commodity exchange with my neighbors.
On the sidelines of the Economic Forum, the SCO held a working meeting with Tajik colleagues: Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan Sulaimon Ziezoda Rizoi, Director of the Export Agency of the Republic of Tajikistan Shavkat Bobozada, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan Shirali Kabir, Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Saidmurodzoda Shoista.
We agreed to create a working group that will work in 7 areas: production, logistics, border issues, product certification, distribution and others.
The Working Group should form a "contour map" of our interaction in the context of product types, supply regions, and volumes in just a couple of days. Both from our side and from the Tajik side. We must clearly calculate the flow of products, both during the ripening season and in the off-season (for us this is the main period of price growth). That is, I must come to Kazakhstan with a clear understanding and a list of what we will send to our neighbors, and what, in what volumes and in what time frame will come from them to our market.
In the next two days, our delegation (and I came here with our business: retail chains and Manufacturers ' Associations) plans to meet with the heads of a number of departments and regions of Tajikistan. We will negotiate trade exchanges not in offices, but right in the field.
We plan to connect Afghanistan to our commodity distribution system. We discussed this today with Mrs. Karima Fariabi, Minister of Economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. She supported these initiatives. And she volunteered to take measures to prepare and exchange the necessary data from the Afghan side.
I will report on the results of these meetings in the following posts.
