On June 22, 2021, holding a reporting meeting in front of the population, the Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov announced measures to support exporters.

"Currently, there are about 600 active exporters in Kazakhstan. Our goal is to increase their number to 1000 in the next 3-4 years. For this purpose, work is being carried out to support exporters," Bakhyt Sultanov said.

"So, in 2020, on the basis of the company QazTrade we have launched a new tool to support entrepreneurs – the Export Accelerator. The main task of the program is to support small and medium-sized enterprises in intensive export development and to accompany them until they enter new markets, " the Minister said.

Last year, the Ministry chose the Chinese direction and trained food industry enterprises. About 500 companies applied for participation, and 35 manufacturers with the highest export potential were selected.
To date, according to the results of the work carried out, there are 18 potential contracts worth about $ 167 million.

As B. Sultanov said, during the acceleration, MIT faced the main problem of exporting SMEs – insufficient production volumes. In particular, the demand of Chinese companies for meat products, vegetable oils, sauces and salt exceeds the current capabilities of the Kazakh participants of the program by 4 times.

For example, the annual demand of a large company Luqioa Food Company (Shandong Ave.) in frozen beef is about 70 thousand tons, in dry camel milk-16 tons. Therefore, this factor should potentially lead to an increase in production volumes.

In addition, B. Sultanov said that business missions contribute to the increase in exports.

The result of the first business mission in Dushanbe since February 2020 was the signing of 5 agreements and memoranda for $ 81 million, including the supply of 4 locomotives, electric transformers.

Recall that by the end of this year, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan plans to conduct 9 more trade missions in countries with favorable weather conditions.

During the reporting meeting, Bakhyt Sultanov said that in 2021, the Ministry plans to significantly expand the quantitative and qualitative coverage of the acceleration program.

Food, light industry, mechanical engineering and chemical industries were selected as priority sectors. The geography of target markets has also been expanded. In addition to China, it includes Russia, the countries of Central Asia and the Middle East. The total number of enterprises will be about 90 companies. For the export of textile products, we will ensure the targeted promotion of our manufacturers to the markets of Uzbekistan, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and China.
"As I know, the products of the domestic company Adili enjoy a certain popularity in the UAE market. At the Dubai Hotel Indigo exhibition in May, the company sold its products-shawls-in the amount of about 2 million tenge, " the minister said.

The export acceleration program will allow to increase about 100 active exporters annually, and by 2025 the number of active exporters will reach 1000.
