Nur-Sultan, May 25, 2021-Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev took part in the official opening of the Trade House of Azerbaijan, which presents products of Azerbaijani production in Kazakhstan: food, cosmetics, etc.

The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan Rashad Mammadov, Vice-Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Asset Magauov, Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan Ayan Yerenov, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the diplomatic corps.

The main goal of opening a chain of stores is to ensure the growth of exports and attract a wider mass of consumers to products produced under the brand "Made in Azerbaijan", in direct cooperation with large distribution companies operating in Kazakhstan.

In turn, Vice-Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev noted that today more than 660 companies with Azerbaijani capital operate in Kazakhstan in various sectors of the economy. Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan joint ventures – 120.

For the period from 2006 to 2020, the gross inflow of direct investment from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan amounted to $ 306.5 million, from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan- $75.7 million.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan for 2020 sank by 36.7% and amounted to $ 109.7 million ($173.3 million).

"Among the top priorities for the joint work of the two governments, we see the achievement of positive dynamics in trade," K. Torebayev said. - In this regard, having analyzed the structure of Azerbaijani imports, we have formed a number of potential goods of Kazakh production that could replace imported products on the Azerbaijani market. So, for example, there is a potential for the supply of Kazakh goods (60 commodity items) in the amount of $181.9 million.

The significant potential of our trade and economic relations lies in the active use of the opportunities of the Kazakh-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. I would like to note that from now on, the Ministry of Trade and Integration is the working body of this intergovernmental commission.

Recall that the Trading House began its activities on October 1, 2019, but due to the pandemic, its official opening was postponed.

During this time, contracts were signed between Azerbaijani manufacturers and distribution companies operating in Kazakhstan, as well as the first export deliveries were made.
