May 25, 2021 - We are glad to announce that as of 20th May this year, our businesses are able to sell on Amazon, one of the largest international e-commerce companies, along with other major sellers from a total of 188 countries globally, including the USA, China, Great Britain, India and Japan. This became possible due to the joint work of Amazon and the team from the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan. It is a great achievement for Kazakhstani sellers to be able to access this global e-commerce company, enabling them to increase export volumes and access international marketplaces.
Bakhyt Sultanov, Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, commented as follows:
“Negotiations about partnership with Amazon and work to include Kazakhstan in the list of allowed countries to sell in Amazon stores took more than six months. Previously, our entrepreneurs had to register a legal entity and open a bank account only in `permitted' countries to gain an access to sell on Amazon. Now Kazakhstani sellers can receive payments directly through their Kazakhstani bank accounts. This does not only simplify the process of selling on one of the world’s most popular e-commerce channels, but also opens up new opportunities for our SMEs.”
Amazon is ranked as one of the most valuable brands in the world. By selling on Amazon online stores, businesses of different types and sizes can directly reach 300+ million worldwide active customer accounts on Amazon in over 200 countries and territories. That includes more than 200 million Prime customers and more than five million business customers.
We are delighted that now Kazakhstani businesses can register as sellers, joining more than 1.9 million small and medium-sized businesses that already sell in Amazon’s store, making up close to 60% of retail sales.
“We are excited to announce that Kazakhstani businesses are now eligible to sell on Amazon. We are eager to work with Kazakhstan’s dynamic business community, including small and medium-sized sellers, and help connect them with customers around the globe. – Eric Broussard, Vice President, Amazon International Seller Services”
