In order to stabilize prices, the Ministry of Trade and Integration, together with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition, has developed a Roadmap for stabilizing the prices of socially important food products, Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov said at a government meeting on March 11.
The roadmap consists of 44 specific actions that will be implemented from March.
According to the Minister of Trade and Integration, the main task of the Government is to support the welfare of the population and the availability of non-food products.
"Today, there are already market relations, where prices are regulated by the market through supply and demand. However, there is still an urgent issue of preventing the growth of prices for basic types of food. In this regard, the Ministry of Trade and a number of central government agencies are forced to use administrative levers to offset all the consequences. For this purpose, it is necessary to exercise control on the part of the state," - the Head of the department said.
The roadmap includes the following measures: inspections and compliance, trade measures, increased production and support for enterprises, as well as legislative changes.
The implementation of the road map will allow in the medium term to stabilize, and in the long term to reduce the prices of food products, saturate the domestic market with domestic goods, fairly distribute subsidies among recipients, as well as conduct fair competition in the market.
