This year's first meeting of the Regional Export Council (RES) was held in Turkestan. It was attended by about 60 export-oriented companies, deputy mayor of the region Meirzhan Myrzaliev, General Director of JSC "Center for Trade Policy Development "QazTrade" MIT RK Azamat Askaruly, representatives of KazakhExport.
The head of "QazTrade" Azamat Askaruly introduced the exporting enterprises of the region to the new possibilities of a single window for exporters and spoke about the measures planned by the state in terms of supporting exports.
“Since this year, QazTrade has become a key institution for the development and promotion of the export of non-primary products. We have formed all the necessary range of non-financial support for manufacturers of domestic products, from diagnostics of the company and assessment of its export opportunities and to the provision of high-quality analytics and consulting services. Since January, we have also begun accepting applications for reimbursement of exporters' costs. Now entrepreneurs do not need to contact many organizations: all services are concentrated on our portal export.gov.kz, ”Askaruli said.
Enterprises of the Turkestan region are already actively cooperating with QazTrade. In 2019-2020, three companies in the region (LLP «Dala-Fruit», LLP «Asyl-LTD», LLP «Seyitbek Huleti») received a «Golden Account» on the Alibaba platform. In 2020, 13 exporting companies of the region received compensation for part of their costs in the amount of 271 million tenge.
According to the deputy mayor of the region, Meirzhan Myrzaliev, there are more than 40 active exporting companies in the region, engaged in the machine-building, metallurgical, food, light, pharmaceutical and woodworking industries. “Last year, the covenant bans had a negative impact on the export of our region. It is very important that we managed to maintain a high share of processed goods in the total export volume - now it is about 50%, ” Myrzaliev said. The deputy mayor expressed confidence that “the expansion of government measures to support exporters and the concentration of their water window will provide significant support to producers in the region. That, ultimately, will expand the export line and increase the volume of our products in foreign markets. "
In January-November 2020, the export of the Turkestan region amounted to 494.6 million US dollars, while the volume of non-resource exports amounted to 352.3 million US dollars, or 71% of all exports. Over 11 months, the growth of non-resource exports amounted to 8.2% over the same period in 2019.
Azamat Askaruly told entrepreneurs that the company is as open as possible to exporters. The @exportgov telegram channel operates 24/7, where you can get advice, make recommendations or talk about the barriers and obstacles that companies face when entering foreign markets. “QazTrade responds as quickly as possible to all emerging problem situations. And promptly takes the necessary measures to resolve them, ” he said.
The main task of regional export councils with the participation of QazTrade is to ensure direct contact of entrepreneurs with the export development institute and to form a unique approach to support the export of each region.
“During the year in each region we will hold several REC meetings. The result of such meetings will be the development of regional export strategies, taking into account the specialization of each region, ” said Azamat Askaruly, General Director of JSC“ Center for Trade Policy Development “QazTrade”.
The head of state set the task to bring non-resource exports (goods and services) of Kazakhstan up to $ 41 billion by 2025. For 11 months of 2020, the export of processed goods from Kazakhstan amounted to USD 13.9 billion, decreasing by 3.4% compared to the same period in 2019.
