Two – thirds of the barriers in the EAEU are Russian

According to Vice-Minister of trade and integration of Kazakhstan zhanel Kushukova, barriers and non-fulfillment of obligations of the member States of the Eurasian Union prevent the full realization of the potential of the common market of the EAEU.

The development of the markets of the EAEU partner countries reveals existing, and in some cases causes the introduction of restrictive measures against Kazakhstan's exports, " she said at a briefing in the CCS.

According to Kushukova, out of 62 proven barriers in the EAEU, 51 have been eliminated, of which 25 are Russian.

"Hidden obstacles, including administrative ones, continue to operate. According to expert assessment, the identified barriers of the EAEU "cost" 660 million US dollars of Kazakhstan's exports annually, " the Ministry of trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan commented.

Non-fulfillment of obligations by participating countries also hinders the common market.

"Access to public procurement of individual partner countries is limited (regional certification, non-recognition of Bank guarantees and EDS, local content requirements, etc.). Veterinary, sanitary, and customs control of goods is shifted deep into the territory. There is no electronic exchange of information on goods moved within the EAEU, " the Ministry of trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

"Both factors are also associated with a high degree of intersection of industries of traded goods in the EAEU countries, which lead to unfair competition," the Ministry of trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan explained.
