The Main Guidelines for Macroeconomic Policy of the EAEU Member States for 2026-2027 are being developed

Within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), work is actively underway to draft the Key Guidelines for Macroeconomic Policy of EAEU Member States for the Next Two Years (the Key Guidelines).

This document is a policy instrument of a recommendatory nature, defining the most important tasks for the economies of member states and aiming to achieve the economic development goals of member states by leveraging the integration potential of the EAEU.

The Key Guidelines for 2026-2027, approved in accordance with the Treaty on the EAEU by the heads of member states, are planned to be adopted by the end of this year.

To date, EAEU countries have already formulated three key areas of the draft Key Guidelines.

The first area is creating a favorable macroeconomic environment.

The second is strengthening cooperation in the real sector of the economy and developing the EAEU's innovative potential.

The third is ensuring the stable functioning of the EAEU domestic market and expanding export opportunities.

Thus, according to forecast data, economic growth in the Republic of Kazakhstan is expected to reach up to 5.4% in 2026-2027.

Meanwhile, the aggregate economic growth rate of EAEU member states in 2025-2026 is expected to be approximately 1.5% per year.

It should be noted that the implementation of the previous Key Guidelines for 2024-2025 has resulted in real growth in macroeconomic indicators in the five countries.

For example, according to the Eurasian Economic Commission, the aggregate GDP growth of EAEU member states by the end of 2024 amounted to 4.4%, and increased by 1.8% in the first half of 2025.
Meanwhile, these figures for the Republic of Kazakhstan were 4.8% and 6.3%, respectively.
