Since the beginning of October, a decrease in the prices of socially important products has been observed

According to the Bureau of National Statistics, prices for eight socially important food products have decreased since the beginning of October, while prices for six other items remain stable. For the week from September 30 to October 7, 2025, the price index for the SZPT was 0%.

Price index declines were recorded for the following items: onions - by 2.6%, carrots - by 1.7%, cabbage - by 1.0%, potatoes - by 0.8%, sunflower oil and sugar - by 0.3%, and flour and rice - by 0.1%. For items such as bread, horns, chicken, kefir, and salt, the average national price index remained stable. A slight increase over the week was noted for buckwheat - by 0.7%, beef - by 0.4%, butter and eggs - by 0.3%, and milk and cottage cheese - by 0.1%.

Regional commissions continue their systematic work to identify unproductive intermediaries in price chains: since the beginning of 2025, 797 meetings have been held, uncovering cases of unjustified markups. Regional departments monitor compliance with the maximum trade markup of 15% on socially important food products. This year, 2,293 administrative decisions have been issued for exceeding markups. Furthermore, more than 9,890 electronic invoice chains have been analyzed, of which 886 cases identified potential violations of the law.

Agricultural fairs are being actively held, and the "Bereke Fest" project has been launched. As part of this campaign, retail chains have demonstrated social responsibility by setting up special areas and providing agricultural firms with direct access to the supply chain for meat and other products from the Northwestern Territory. Eighty retail chains are participating in the initiative.

Concurrently, preparations are underway for Republic Day celebrations. The Ministry of Trade and Integration has held talks with major shopping malls and online platforms. The discount promotion will cover a wide range of food and non-food products.

Approximately 1,700 fairs are planned for the fourth quarter, taking place on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as all public holidays. Space is provided free of charge to domestic producers.
