Last Saturday, 47 agricultural fairs were held across the country, offering Kazakhstanis a variety of fresh produce from domestic producers, including over 195 tons of beef. Over 400 producers participated in the events, presenting their products directly to consumers. Since the beginning of this year, 3,700 such fairs have already been organized across the country, underscoring the public's continued interest in this type of trade.
The focus was on the sale of socially important food products, among which beef once again demonstrated high demand. Kostanay Region led the way in beef sales, with a record 83 tons sold at the region's fairs. The capital, Astana, sold 61 tons, and Abay Region sold 19 tons. Beef prices ranged from 2,400 to 3,700 tenge per kilogram, with Kyzylorda Oblast excelling in affordability, with a kilogram of beef offered at the fair for 2,400–2,500 tenge.
In Turkestan, a meat fair is held twice a week at the Kuanysh market, where beef can be purchased for 2,600 tenge per kilogram.
Yesterday, 19.5 tons of beef, one ton each of potatoes and onions, and 250 kg of carrots and cabbage were sold at the Severny TLC in Semey.
The traditional autumn fair, "Aul Bereke – 2025," opened in Karaganda at the Global City shopping mall. More than 90 agricultural producers and processors from seven districts of the region presented their products at prices 10-15% below market prices. In total, over 120 tons of goods were on display, including 52.2 tons of meat, 25 tons of potatoes, 7 tons of other vegetables, 16 tons of dairy products, 4 tons of fish, 175,000 chicken eggs, and other products.
According to First Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Aizhan Bizhanova, fairs, as part of Kazakhstan's trade culture, remain a popular venue for both producers and consumers.
"Here, residents can purchase directly from producers, which is 10-15 percent cheaper. A fair schedule has been approved in all regions. Plans are in place to increase the number of meat fairs in the regions. By the end of the year, over 1,300 more fairs are planned across all regions of the country, allowing residents to purchase winter food in advance at competitive prices," noted the First Vice Minister of Trade.
