Technical regulations for railway transport will be update

Experts of Department of economic integration of the Ministry of trade and integration of Kazakhstan in the Kazakh delegation attended the meeting at the site of the Eurasian economic Commission to discuss disagreements on the draft amendments to the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On safety of railway rolling stock", "On safety of high-speed rail transport" and "About safety of infrastructure of railway transport".

These technical regulations regulate safety issues in the countries of the Eurasian economic Union of railway transport and its infrastructure, including locomotives, passenger and freight cars, railway platforms and stations.

The document has been developed for more than 4 years. The draft amendments are intended to make changes to the lists of components of rolling stock subject to conformity assessment, the conceptual framework, and specify the requirements and procedures for conducting conformity assessment work.

The document has already passed public discussion, internal approval procedures, and is in a high state of readiness.

Currently, 3 issues remain unresolved, aimed at ensuring unhindered operation of rolling stock and (or) its components on the territory of the EAEU member States.

These amendments will allow resolving controversial issues during modernization with subsequent extension of the service life of cars, import of spare parts, and compliance assessment. For example, in terms of the possibility of entering the Russian Federation of cars that have undergone major repairs.

The Kazakh, Armenian, Belarusian and Kyrgyz sides agreed on the above proposals, while the Russian Federation opposes them.

In this regard, the parties continue to consult on finding mutually acceptable solutions
