PILOTLESS AIRCRAFTS MUST BE REGISTERED

Wide use of pilotless aircraft systems around the world requires applying the rules for use of such systems. Currently, the authorized body is working out the amendments to the existing regulations on issues relating to operation of pilotless aircraft systems.

Pursuant to legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as to Order by Minister of Transport and Communications No.613 of September 18, 2012 “On Approval of Rules for State Registration of Civil Aircrafts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Title Thereto and Deals Therewith, As Well As the Forms of Documents Certifying Title Thereto”, the authorized body for civil aviation (i.e. Civil Aviation Committee) is performing registration of remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS).

Owners of RPAS are currently applying to the Committee to have their RPAS registered in order to use them legally afterwards.

In September this year, Civil Aviation Committee registered the first five pilotless aircraft systems.
