Today, July 1, the new Law "On Technical Regulation" came into force

Today, on July 1, a new Law "On Technical Regulation"came into force.
This law has been in force for more than three months (from September to December) it was actively discussed in the Parliament.
Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov, presenting the draft law, noted that when developing the draft law, the main task was not only to protect our consumers from unsafe products, but also to introduce mechanisms to support domestic producers, without putting an excessive burden on them when implementing control measures.
We have already talked about innovations in the Law more than once, this is primarily the institute of market control and supervision, which will be carried out on the basis of monitoring the release of products into circulation and according to consumer requests, as well as products will be tracked through information certification systems (in the future, electronic certificates will be integrated with the general processes of the Eurasian Economic Commission). Based on the information, a procedure for selecting product samples for laboratory tests and identifying unsafe products will be carried out.
When identifying unsafe products, law-limiting measures of rapid response will be applied in the form of a ban on the release into circulation and withdrawal of products.
In order to avoid double control over products, the law delineates state control over products. Now the Committee carries out state control of products for which technical regulations have been put into effect at the stage of their release into circulation, with the exception of products subject to state sanitary-epidemiological, veterinary-sanitary, quarantine-phytosanitary control and supervision.
The innovations will ensure transparency and efficiency of control and supervisory activities in the field of technical regulation, they are aimed at protecting the domestic market from unsafe products, promoting Kazakhstani goods to foreign markets, protecting the competitive advantages of domestic manufacturers and professionally defending positions that are beneficial to Kazakhstan.
