About safety of products intended for children and teenagers

The Department of KTRM for Almaty region held a working meeting with sellers of goods for children and teenagers on the territory of the Mall "Aport". The purpose of the meeting was to clarify the requirements of the technical regulation of the EAEU 007/2011 "On the safety of products intended for children and adolescents".

It was explained to participants that the document applies to the following products intended for children (under 14 years of age) and adolescents (between 14 and 18 years of age) that were not previously in use:

baby care products (milk teats, pacifiers, tableware, Cutlery, sanitary and haberdashery products, toothbrushes and gum massagers);
clothing, products made of textile materials, leather and fur, knitwear and finished piece textile products;
footwear and leather goods;
baby strollers and bicycles;
publishing books and magazines, school and writing supplies.
Goods must be subject to a mandatory conformity assessment procedure before sale, which is carried out in the form of state registration followed by Declaration of conformity or certification of conformity.

It is noted that information about the product is very important for consumers, i.e. the marking, which must be reliable, verifiable, readable and accessible for inspection and identification. Product labeling is applied to the product, a label attached to the product or a product label, product packaging, product group packaging, or a leaflet to the product.

It was also explained to those present that products that meet the requirements of the regulations and have passed the conformity assessment procedure must be marked with a single product circulation mark, which is applied before the product is put into circulation.

During the meeting, the participants were asked questions, which were fully answered.
