Kanat Sharlapaev: Measures are needed to ensure a competitive advantage for domestic manufacturers

Today, Kanat Sharlapaev, the Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, arrived in Turkistan on a working visit. He plans to familiarize himself with the industrial and construction sites of the region.

The Minister's first visit was to a project for the production of water-saving devices-irrigation machines by «BNK Group LTD», located in the small industrial zone of the city of Turkistan.

In Kazakhstan, irrigation machines significantly contribute to agriculture and the irrigation of farmlands. In the arid climates of northern and central Kazakhstan, where droughts are common, irrigation machines are crucial for providing plants with the necessary moisture.

Niyazali Beysenbayev, the CEO of the company, discussed the enterprise's plans and highlighted pressing issues, including the need to expand the market and for state-supported incentives.

The Minister emphasized the project's importance, primarily aimed at rational water use in agriculture, and expressed his readiness to support the development of additional measures to stimulate domestic production.

It's worth noting that, to support domestic manufacturers, according to the new version of the Development Concept of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2021 – 2030, the Ministry of Agriculture has planned to subsidize the purchase of irrigation machines by up to 80% (30% from the local budget). Additionally, when purchasing irrigation machines, the interest rate for loans/leasing through JSC «KazAgroFinance» is subsidized.
