This year traffic will be open on more than 150 km of the Kandyagash-Makat highway

The implementation of the large-scale road project "Kandyagash-Makat" (km 160-504) is being carried out as part of the Nurly Zhol State Infrastructure Development Program. The project is divided into 7 sections, the total length of which is 299 kilometers. The general contractors are Todini, Shanghai, Ant, Akzhol and SPIK Accord.

From the beginning of the project, work was completed on the dumping of 3909.8 thousand cubic meters of subgrade. The underlying layer was also arranged at 144.7 km of the road, the lower base layer at 125.4 km, the upper base layer at 108.8 km and the lower coating layer at 99.7 km. In addition, 68 culverts were installed by the road workers.

For the construction season this year, companies procured 450.63 thousand cubic meters of crushed stone, 2.36 thousand cubic meters of reinforced concrete products, as well as 2.31 thousand tons of bitumen.

By the end of 2020, it is planned to open traffic on 154 kilometers of the Kandyagash-Makat highway, and in the remaining sections of the work will continue. After the completion of the project in 2021, the highway of republican significance will be transferred to the II technical category.

It is planned to involve 1,500 employees for the reconstruction of the road, of which 1,420 from the local population.
