Overpass at Shamalgan station will be built as a flyover

Active construction of an overpass at the Shamalgan railway station in the Almaty region will begin this year. To date, preparatory mobilization work is underway before the upcoming construction season. According to preliminary data, the total amount of construction will amount to 5.5 billion tenge.

The Committee of Roads of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a scientific and technical council, where a decision was made to design a transport interchange in accordance with the first technical category. Specialists determined the option of building an overpass in the form of an overpass with a length of 340 meters.

For construction, a section was chosen between the settlements of Shamalgan and Ekpendi with a junction located at a distance of 250 meters from the existing railway crossing. This will reduce the journey to the main highways by 0.7 kilometers, as well as transfer transit traffic outside the village.

In November 2019, Saulet-SKB LLP began the development of design estimates, which will be completed in March this year. In December, an agreement on construction and installation works was signed with the Consortium of JSC Todini Designs Generali S.p.A. / Integra Construction KZ LLP, which is currently conducting preparatory and mobilization work. The project is scheduled to be commissioned in August 2021.

In addition, the “DSU-13” LLP company is constructing an elevated pedestrian crossing over the railway at Shamalgan station on a regional highway “Almaty-1 - st. Shamalgan - Uzynagash ". For these purposes, 330 million tenge was allocated from the local budget.

Let us remind that by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the overpass at the Shamalgan railway station was assigned to construction sites requiring special regulation.
