Since the beginning of the year, toll roads have earned more than 600 million tenge

Fees for four paid sections with a total length of 682 km for two months of 2020 amounted to 643.1 million tenge. Most of all, Kazakhstan people paid for travel on the republican highway "Nur-Sultan - Temirtau" - 215.5 million tenge. The Nur-Sultan-Schuchinsk highway earned 167 million tenge, Almaty-Kapshagai-140.1 million tenge and Almaty-Khorgos - 120.5 million tenge.

It is worth noting that, according to the results of 2019, the total amount of the collection amounted to 5.4 billion tenge. Of these, 3.8 billion tenge were allocated for the current repair of paid sections and their cleaning, and 1.6 billion tenge were spent on supporting the hardware-software complex of the system.

Let us remind that in December last year, according to the results of the investment tender, a contract was signed for the installation and maintenance of a toll system on 11 thousand kilometers of republican roads. According to the agreement, this year it is planned to install a tolling system in reconstructed sections with a length of 5.7 thousand kilometers. In the remaining 5.3 thousand kilometers, it is planned to introduce payment until 2024 after completion of reconstruction work. Thus, the system will exclude the annual allocation of budget funds for the maintenance of toll roads.
