Military hospital in Almaty discharged the last patient with COVID-19

The last patient who was admitted earlier with a coronavirus infection was discharged from the Military clinical hospital in Almaty. This is 59-year-old Galina Zhukova.

"I want to thank the entire staff of the Military clinical hospital of the Ministry of defense for the treatment. It was clear that the doctors and medical staff were highly qualified and well-trained. I felt the care of military doctors for patients, good care and friendly attitude. Medications were given in full and without interruption. The food was good, varied and full," the patient shared.

In total, about 800 people, including military personnel, were treated at the military hospital. About 40% were admitted with a severe course of the disease, while more than half of the patients are elderly people with several comorbidities: circulatory system, respiratory system, endocrine pathology. One of the tasks of military doctors was to prevent the development of complications and their treatment.

"Our hospital has gained tremendous experience in working in strict anti-epidemic mode. Medical personnel are prepared to work with patients with this pathology, doctors and nurses are well aware of their tasks, comply with the required safety measures and are ready to respond to various unforeseen situations. We worked around the clock. All the doctors and nurses showed high professionalism and thanks to their dedication, we managed to cope with this disease. Today we discharged the last patient and this is a great joy for all medical staff," said Samat Sarsenbayev, head of the Military clinical hospital in Almaty.

According to the chief of the military medical institution, the material and technical base of the hospital allows to fully carry out the medical and diagnostic process, including the issues of accommodation and nutrition of patients.

We remind you that on August 3, we started working together with military doctors from Russia. A whole range of issues related to the treatment of COVID-19 and the exchange of experience has been worked out.

It should be noted that many military medical institutions were included in the list of medical institutions that participate in the treatment and isolation of patients with coronavirus infection. Medical institutions were reformatted in accordance with the requirements of quarantine, food and infectious diseases hospitals.
