The Armed Forces of Kazakhstan Are Expanding the Use of Video Analytics Systems Powered by Artificial Intelligence

The Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan continue to implement modern digital technologies aimed at enhancing the safety of service members, strengthening military discipline, and improving the system for preventing criminal offenses.

One of the promising areas of this work is the use of intelligent video analytics systems incorporating elements of artificial intelligence. These new technologies enable round-the-clock monitoring of the situation at military units’ facilities, the timely identification of potentially dangerous situations, the detection of violations of established procedures, and the prompt notification of officials so they can take the necessary response measures.

Special attention is paid to the safety of military personnel in the army. Upon arrival at military units, conscripts undergo basic training and a program to help them adapt to military service. Psychological assessments of personnel are conducted on an ongoing basis; military psychologists are on staff; and the mental and psychological well-being of service members is monitored.

Military units are equipped with video surveillance systems and military police outposts, and daily preventive measures are carried out. Conscripts are provided with the opportunity to communicate regularly with their relatives via telephone and the “Otbasymen beineqonyrau” (video call with family) video call service.

To prevent offenses and incidents within the armed forces, the digital control and monitoring systems “Naparnik,” “Piramida,” and “Zhaungerlik Dos” are used, along with a set of algorithms designed to prevent offenses and personnel fatalities.

Commanders and non-commissioned officers play a key role in maintaining law and order; they undergo special training in managing military units, strengthening discipline, and preventing conflicts.

Monitoring of compliance with servicemembers’ rights is carried out in cooperation with parent committees and the Committee of Soldiers’ Mothers. Parent chat groups involving military unit commanders have been created to facilitate the rapid exchange of information.

In addition, as part of the interagency “Digital Prevention” program, the Ministry of Defenсe has implemented a system for service members to submit complaints via a QR code. This new service provides an additional mechanism for protecting the rights of service members and helps reinforce the principle of “law and order”.

To ensure a prompt response to inquiries from citizens and military personnel, the Main Directorate of Military Police of the Armed Forces operates a unified “Hotline” call center at +7 (7172) 72-11-66.

The systematic implementation of digital solutions and modern technologies contributes to creating safe conditions for military service, improving the effectiveness of preventive measures, and further developing the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
