A flag was hoisted on Abay peak in honor of the great enlightener

Military personnel of the special operations Forces of the armed forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan climbed Abay peak, which is located in a spur of the Zailiysky Alatau ridge at an altitude of 4010 meters.

The event was timed to the anniversary of the great Kazakh thinker, writer and public figure Abay Kunanbayev.

The ascent participants started their route from the base camp "Tuyuk-su Gate". In the course of overcoming difficult earthquake-prone areas and hard-to-reach rocks, the military personnel demonstrated combat training and real skill. The group also included climbers who first conquered this height.

When they reached the top, the soldiers hoisted a flag on it Republic of Kazakhstan. A memorial marble slab on behalf of the Armed Forces was also installed on the peak.
