B.Sagintayev held a meeting of the Public Council of Almaty

“The public council of the city is considered the most active in the republic. Over the years of its work, tremendous work has been done to address a wide range of the most acute and resonant issues of the city’s life. The subject of public discussion are issues relevant to the city, such as ecology, architecture, transport, housing and public utilities, safety, social infrastructure and a number of large urban projects, including the reconstruction of a botanical garden, railway stations and others. All of them were reflected in the decisions made by the executive committee, ”said Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

The governor of the city noted the new role of the Public Council in modern conditions: “You are constantly among the population. You keep abreast of the social moods of the townspeople. Reflecting the basic needs of citizens and society, you help to synchronize them with the interests of the state, the possibilities of their solution by the authorities. I am set up for open communication with citizens, ready to share city development plans, discuss them with you. Together, make the most appropriate decisions to improve the quality and standard of living of citizens, improve the infrastructure for comfortable living of citizens, ”said B.Sagintayev.

It should be noted that 37 members were elected to the first membership of the Public Council of Almaty, of which 31 are representatives of the non-state sector and civil society. In total, for the period of work of the composition (2016-2019), 107 meetings, 127 meetings of commissions, 84 public monitoring and 16 public hearings were held.

In addition, 475 draft regulatory acts were reviewed at the meetings of the Public Council and 462 recommendations were sent to the relevant state bodies.
