The turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic has reached 12 million dollars

The turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic increased by 40% this year and reached $ 12 million. The potential of developing relations in the agricultural sector was discussed by the Ministers of Agriculture of the two countries Aidarbek Saparov and Marek Vyborny, as well as the Czech Ambassador to Kazakhstan Pavol Shepelyak.  It should be noted that the Czech delegation arrived in Astana to participate in the Kazakh-Czech business forum.

Welcoming colleagues, Aidarbek Saparov noted great opportunities for the implementation of joint projects in the field of agriculture. At the same time, one of the priorities of the agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan today is the processing of agricultural raw materials, the production of high-quality and affordable food.

The Minister told the delegation about the program of crediting projects in the field of agro-industrial complex, within the framework of which the construction and modernization of dairy farms and poultry farms in the meat sector is financed in Kazakhstan.

"The Czech Republic has achieved a high level of milk and meat production, and is also successfully implementing a program for the production of incubation broiler eggs. Therefore, the Kazakh side proposes to establish closer cooperation between the import of Czech breeding cattle and poultry breeding material," Aidarbek Saparov said.

It should be noted that over the past few years Kazakhstan has already imported more than 10 thousand heads of Czech breeding cattle of the Simmental and Holstein breeds. In addition, this year domestic poultry farmers have purchased about 8.8 million pieces of broiler hatching eggs in the Czech Republic.

Separately, the ministers focused on the issue of technological re-equipment of the agro-industrial complex.  Aidarbek Saparov spoke about the instruction of the President of Kazakhstan to bring the renewal of agricultural machinery to 8-10% per year. To diversify the rates of replenishment of the machine and tractor fleet, farmers are subsidized by the costs and interest rates on loans for the purchase of equipment.

"The Czech distributor of JSC Zetor Tractors is interested in localizing the production of agricultural and forestry equipment in Kazakhstan. I suggest that companies consider the possibility of opening relevant enterprises on the territory of our country. This will give an opportunity to increase sales and reduce the cost of equipment due to existing state support measures," Aidarbek Saparov added.

The head of the Ministry of Agriculture cited as an example the successful experience of Canadian businessmen who opened an enterprise for the production of trailed and mounted harvesters for combines in Lisakovsk. Such major European manufacturers as CLAAS Gmbh (Germany), SDF Group (Italy), PÖTTINGER Landtechnik GmbH (Austria) and HORSCH (Germany) have also followed this path.

The Minister also spoke about the wide opportunities
for investment in the agricultural sector. The business got the opportunity to directly conclude an investment agreement with the Government of Kazakhstan for the implementation of major projects. Under this agreement, strategic investors can receive tax preferences.

The Kazakh-Czech business Forum is being held in Astana in the year of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic. The event was attended by the heads of Government of the two countries, representatives of the public sector, national companies and business circles.
