Aktobe region will start producing non-woven materials from recycled wool using Italian technologies. The corresponding Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, "CORMATEX S.r.l." and the Joint Stock Company "KAZAKH INVEST National Company" was signed on September 26, 2022.
The project will be implemented by the Kazakh company KazFeltec LLP together with the Italian investor Cormatex, which, in addition to financial injections, will provide the company with Italian technologies and equipment. The cost of the project is estimated at $ 10 million, 70% of which are borrowed funds.
It should be noted that about 70% of wool is currently disposed of in Kazakhstan. The opening of the new project will have a multiplicative effect, thanks to which Kazakh livestock breeders will be able to sell wool and animal skins.
