The grain of the new crop has high quality indicators, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan said at a Government meeting. Erbol Karashukeyev clarified that 85.8% of the total volume of wheat delivered to grain receiving enterprises is attributed to grades 1-3.
In general, 15.4 million hectares of grain and leguminous crops were harvested in the republic, or 96.3% of the total harvesting area. With an average yield of 13c/ha, 20.1 million tons of grain were harvested. Grain harvesting is fully completed in Aktobe, Karaganda regions and Shymkent.
The harvest of oilseeds in the republic is 1 million tons, potatoes have been harvested 3.2 million tons to date, vegetables - 4.2 million tons.
"The projected gross harvest of socially important crops will ensure the internal needs of the republic. Favorable conditions have had a positive impact on the quality of the harvest," the minister added.
Erbol Karashukeyev separately focused on the issue of forward contracts for the purchase of agricultural crops. The food corporation has set wheat prices in the amount of 121-125 thousand tenge, depending on the quality. Prices have also been determined for other products for which forward contracts were previously concluded.
"The established purchase prices are fair for all market participants, including agricultural producers themselves. I ask the heads of the regions to take special control of the work on the supply of agricultural products by farmers within the framework of concluded contracts in the form of goods. Moreover, the purchased volumes will be sent to the domestic market to stabilize prices for socially significant goods," concluded the head of the Ministry of Agriculture.
In general, as the minister noted, the pace of the harvesting campaign is ahead of the plan, harvesting is under constant control of the Ministry.
