Minister of Finance Madi Takiev met and discussed with the World Bank Resident Representative in Kazakhstan Andrei Mikhnev and the head of the International Finance Corporation for Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan Zafar Khashimov the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation

Today, Minister of Finance Madi Takiev met and discussed with the World Bank Resident Representative in Kazakhstan Andrei Mikhnev and the head of the International Finance Corporation for Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan Zafar Khashimov the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation.

 Madi Takiev noted the strategic nature of the partnership with the World Bank and its contribution to the socio-economic development of our state.

Currently, Kazakhstan and the World Bank cooperate on a wide range of economic issues, which we intend to further develop. Our focus is on transforming economic development in favor of increasing quality growth and improving the               well-being of the population. I am confident that cooperation between Kazakhstan and the World Bank can be taken to a qualitatively new level,” said the head of the Ministry.

Kazakhstan has received significant support from the Bank, both in terms of financing and expertise.

World Bank Resident Representative Andrey Mikhnev emphasized the importance of further cooperation with Kazakhstan.

The meeting was also attended by World Bank Senior Operations Director Yanina Ermakova and Senior Economist Natasha Sharma.
