On the technical mission of the International Monetary Fund that took place from November 6 to 17, 2023

The purpose of the IMF technical mission conducted by the Department of Government Finance Reporting and Statistics with the participation of the permanent Adviser to the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia Regional Capacity Development Center (CCAMTAC) on the GFS Yablonska I. and the expert of the IMF Statistics Department Dubinina I. considered issues on government finance statistics and the implementation of recommendations based on the results of the Assessment of fiscal transparency held in January – February 2023.

During the mission, problems were discussed with representatives of the Ministry of National Economy, the Bureau of National Statistics, the Ministry of Finance and the necessary recommendations for improving fiscal transparency in the Republic of Kazakhstan were presented.

The IMF noted positive trends in the quality of reporting on government finance statistics, as well as voiced intentions for further cooperation and technical assistance.
