Kazakhstan hosted a forum on the implementation of IFRS S1/S2 standards

Recently, a forum was held on the topic “Implementation of IFRS S1/S2: International Experience and Practical Steps,” dedicated to the disclosure of sustainability-related financial information.

With the global expansion of IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 standards, sustainability disclosure is becoming an essential element in building transparent and efficient financial markets. Forum participants emphasized that a successful transition to the new requirements requires coordinated actions from regulators, financial institutions, and businesses, as well as a clear understanding of supervisory expectations.

It should be noted that in December 2025, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced the adoption of IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 standards. In this regard, special attention during the forum was given to the role of the regulator in ensuring consistent and reliable implementation of these standards.

The event served as an effective platform for professional dialogue and exchange of experience among regulators, international financial organizations, rating agencies, and representatives of the business community. The discussions covered international practices, key challenges, and practical approaches to implementing sustainability reporting standards.

More than 200 registered participants took part in the forum.
