Kokshetau hosted the grand opening of the multifunctional sports complex Kokshe Arena. The facility was built with funds from a special state fund formed as part of the return of assets in favor of the state. The event was attended by: Minister of Finance Madi Takiev, Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov, Prosecutor General Berik Asylov, Akim of Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov, President of the World Boxing International Federation Gennady Golovkin and mixed martial arts fighter under the auspices of the UFC Shavkat Rakhmonov.
Madi Takiev noted that this project has become an example of how the funds returned to the state are used in practice. The money received from the fight against corruption is now invested in an object that is important to people.
The Kokshe Arena sports complex includes a hall with 650 seats with modern multimedia equipment, a universal gym with a climbing wall and a tower for fire-applied sports, as well as specialized halls for boxing, wrestling, weightlifting and crossfit, equipped according to Olympic standards. The complex is fully accessible to people with limited mobility. The maximum capacity of the building is about 1000 people.
Kokshe Arena became the second sports facility in Akmola region built with returned assets. In total, 42 social facilities are planned to be built in the region at the expense of a special fund. The new complex will become the center of the sports life of the region, providing conditions for training, mass sports and international competitions.
