The grand opening of the first chess tournament among employees of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Finance Chess Cup-2025
The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan pays special attention to the development of sports initiatives and the participation of employees in competitions. For a number of years, employees of the Ministry of Finance have held leading positions in the Spartakiad among administrative and civil servants. This year, the championship was also won in chess.
Today, the first sectoral chess tournament - Finance Chess Cup-2025, dedicated to the Day of the national currency - tenge, has started in the capital.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the Kazakhstan Chess Federation.
The tournament was opened by Ernar Yerzhanov, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the first vice-president of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation Darmen Sadvakasov. They congratulated the participants on the upcoming holiday and noted that chess develops logic, the ability to plan, make decisions and work in a team.
"The idea of holding the Finance Chess Cup on the eve of the National Currency Day turned out to be very symbolic - chess is close to us in spirit, in the game, as in the distribution of finances, deep analysis and a prescient forecast are important, besides, the game unites and strengthens the team spirit of the team. We hope the intellectual game will become a new professional tradition among our colleagues," said Ernar Yerzhanov, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"We were pleased to support the initiative to hold the Finance Chess Cup 2025, since inclusiveness for the Kazakhstan Chess Federation is one of the main priorities," said Darmen Sadvakasov, First Vice President of Kazchess.
Competitions are held in the format of "team per team" (2 men+1 woman). The teams will play 9 rounds according to the Swiss system with a rapid time control of 15+10 (15 minutes per game with the addition of 10 seconds for each move, starting from the first).
In the summer, the qualifying competition Finance Chess Cup 2025 was held in two stages:
in August - among the district departments of departments of treasury and state revenues;
in September - among the territorial divisions of the Ministry. At the second stage, one winning team was formed from each region.
30 teams of the Ministry take part in the intellectual duel:
two teams of the central office of the Ministry - TsA-1 and TsA-2;
four teams of committees of the Ministry - the Internal State Audit Committee, the State Property and Privatization Committee, the Treasury Committee and the State Revenue Committee;
four teams of subordinate organizations of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Returned Assets Management Company LLP, Digital Silk Road Company LLP, Problem Loans Fund JSC and Electronic Finance Center JSC;
20 teams of regions and cities of republican significance - Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, region Abay, Akmola region, Aktobe region, Almaty region, Atyrau region, East Kazakhstan region, Zhambyl region, region Zhetisu, West Kazakhstan region, Karaganda region, Kostanay region, Kyzylorda region, Mangistau region, Pavlodar region, North Kazakhstan region, Turkestan region and Ulytau region.
