4 new customs posts on the border with China and Uzbekistan have been opened

As part of the implementation of the state policy to expand transit potential the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan is modernizing 9 checkpoints on the borders with China Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan

The project provides for the construction of new modern checkpoints with the complete replacement of outdated infrastructure. The new facilities comply with international standards and are equipped with high-tech equipment for scanning, inspection and automatic measurement of vehicles. Since the beginning of 20254 upgraded checkpoints have been launched

• on the border with China — "Kalzhat" and "Alakol";

• on the border with Uzbekistan — "Kaplanbek" and "Atameken".

By the end of this year, it is planned to complete the modernization of five more points: Kazygurt, Tazhen, Temir Baba, Maykapchagai and Bakhty.

All conditions for comfortable and safe border crossing have been created at the new checkpoints.

The number of traffic lanes has been increased from 2 to 6, control takes place without the driver leaving the cab, and the average time to cross the border has been reduced to 30 minutes due to full automation of processes.

A distinctive feature is a single technological corridor, which ensures the continuous passage of all types of control without additional stops on the principle of "one window".

In general, the Ministry of Finance is working on the phased implementation of a set of measures to modernize checkpoints, digitalize and automate customs procedures, and develop cross-border services.

Thus, since 2023, the CarGoRuqsat electronic queue system has been implemented at all automobile checkpoints of the external border of the EAEU. This made it possible to eliminate the physical accumulation of vehicles along the highways of national importance, to increase the transparency and efficiency of the transportation process.

76 business processes were optimized, which reduced the time for PBX to pass through checkpoints by 3 times. 3 car hubs and 1 transport and logistics center have been launched. The Nur Zholy checkpoint has been switched to round-the-clock mode, and the opening hours of Alakol and Maykapchagai have been extended.

Since 2024, the Keden system has been implemented, a single digital platform with 20 modules, of which 13 are already operational. An electronic declaration format, format-logical control has been introduced, and the accounting of goods at the Khorgos ICBC has been fully digitized. Integrated control of services has been automated, transit procedures have been accelerated, and remote interaction through a personal account has been provided.

The capacity has increased from 640 thousand. Vehicles in 2022 to 1.4 million in 2024. Modernization is aimed at transparency, accelerating the flow of goods and developing the cross-border economy.
