Actual data on amount of loan, public debt and interest payments
Government borrowing was carried out within the approved republican budget deficit for 2025.
In the first quarter of 2025, MoF issued a government securities on the internal market in amount of KZT 1,414.9 billion.
Receipt of external loans amounted to KZT 68.3 billion.
As of April 1, 2025 the public debt amounted to KZT 31,878.5 billion or 21.1% of GDP (at GDP KZT 150,756.4 billion), including:
1) government debt - KZT 30,575.0 billion or 95.9% of public debt.
The structure of government debt is as follows:
- internal debt – KZT 22,569.8 billion (74%),
- external debt – KZT 8,005.2 billion (26%);
2) portfolio of debt obligations of local executive bodies accounted for KZT 1,303.5 billion or 4.1% of the total amount of public debt.
The government structure:
by repayment periods:
- short-term – KZT 3 593,5 billion;
- medium-term – KZT 10,801.0 billion;
- long-term- KZT 16,180.5 billion;
by interest rates:
- fixed – 84,4%;
- inflation indexed – 2,2%;
- floating – 13,4%.
Government debt service payments for the reporting period amounted to KZT 978,5 billion.
