Since gaining independence, Kazakhstan has pursued a multi-vector foreign policy and maintains friendly relations with all countries.
Due to its strong economy and investment attractiveness, Kazakhstan attracts foreign direct investment (FDI), thus remaining the largest recipient of FDI in the Central Asian region.
Of course, international financial organizations (MFIs) play a special role in attracting investment.
Kazakhstan highly appreciates the strategic nature of cooperation with organizations such as the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, the Eurasian Development Bank, etc.
The participation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in MFIs determines the right of access of our republic to their financial resources and gives the right to participate in voting on their targeted distribution.
Development institutions such as WB, ADB, IDB, EBRD, AIIB, EDB have a high AAA rating, which allows them to raise funds in the market at the lowest rate with further lending to their member countries.
MFI projects are implemented in such areas as infrastructure and transport, energy, small and medium-sized businesses, the municipal sector, the mining sector, the agro-industrial complex, the chemical industry and other industries, which in turn contribute to the opening of new jobs for the population and improve well-being.
An important part of the international cooperation of our department is interaction with integration associations (EAEU, SCO, CIS, CSTO, etc.).
The Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan takes an active part in the development of draft documents and the implementation of documents adopted in the framework of cooperation of the Republic of Kazakhstan with regional associations (SCO, CIS, CSTO, CICA, etc.) and international organizations (EU, OECD, OES, OIC, etc.).
Within the SCO and the CIS, councils of finance ministers function.
I would especially like to note the activities of the department within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Within the framework of the current agenda of the EAEU for the Ministry of Finance, the most important issues are the improvement of customs regulation, tax administration, as well as issues in the field of public procurement.
Uniform customs rules and approaches are enshrined in the Treaty on the EAEU, the EAEU Customs Code and other acts of EAEU law.
Within the framework of the EAEU, a lot of work is being done to transfer all customs operations to electronic format, as well as to ensure the free transit of goods through the customs territory of the EAEU.
