“Adaldyq Alańy” office held a meeting with diplomats to be posted abroad

Igor Musalimov, head of the Project Office, met with diplomats to be posted abroad as part of "Corruption is not for us!” volunteer campaign in the “Adaldyk Alańy” Project Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Conversations with diplomats being posted abroad is an old practice. Diplomats are instructed on ethical conduct in foreign countries, on restrictions imposed on them by civil service and advised on how to act in different situations.

This year's meeting was special. Consular officers who will protect the rights of our citizens in foreign countries participated in the conversation.  Consular service is one of the main areas in the work of the MFA RK “Adaldyq Alańy” Project Office. When evaluating the work of consular officers abroad, the citizens consider both the activities of the Ministry and all government agencies.  In this regard, consuls bear special responsibility of being representatives of all government agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the conversation, the diplomats were informed on the "Corruption is not for us!” campaign of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan launched in September of this year. One of the main goals of this campaign is to study the public opinion on the transparency of government agencies, their capacity to respond to population requests as well as the accessibility of leadership. Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who are abroad for various reasons are also full-fledged representatives of Kazakh civil society and their opinion on anti-corruption work is important. In this regard, consular officers should build their foreign activities on the principles of honesty, openness, professionalism and be the conductors of the anti-corruption policy of our state.

During the exchange, the proposals to improve and expand the work of “Adaldyq Alańy” Project in the Foreign Ministry considering the specifics of its activities, use international experience in combating corruption and promote close interaction of foreign representatives with the MFA RK “Adaldyk Alańy” Project Office was made.

In the near future, meetings with participation of all diplomats to be posted abroad will be held. The ideology of Adaldyk Alańy - territories free from corruption - will be significantly expanded.
