Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan on the armed conflict on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border

The Republic of Kazakhstan is deeply concerned about the armed incident that occurred on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, which resulted in human casualties.

We urge the friendly Republics of Azerbaijan and Armenia to show restraint and renounce the use of force to resolve disputed issues.

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and the worsening socio-economic situation in the world, further escalation of the confrontation may lead to unpredictable negative consequences.

We express our aspirations for the early achievement of peace and harmony primarily in the bilateral format. We are ready to actively encourage the search for peaceful ways to resolve the conflict within the framework of international organizations, including the UN, OSCE, CIS, and CICA platforms.
