On April 29, 2020, the first batch of humanitarian aid in the form of flour (800 tons) arrived in the Kyrgyz Republic from Kazakhstan.

In an effort to provide economic support to the neighbouring country during the response to the pandemic, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, decided to supply humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in the form of Kazakh flour in the amount of 5,000 tons to each country worth over $3 million.

According to the Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of Kyrgyzstan, Erkinbek Choduyev, the Kyrgyz side highly appreciates the assistance provided by the Government of Kazakhstan and expresses deep gratitude to the fraternal Kazakh people for the support.

The humanitarian aid was stored in the warehouses of the State Material Reserves Fund under the Government of Kyrgyzstan.
